This is a classic modern design that has been built as a production boat in many parts of the world. Brett Martz used the centre cockpit version as the basis of his production design, the Martz Craft 35 and refined the accommodation to to one of the best 35 ft cruising layout around. A wonderfully safe cruising boat, with good performance on or off the wind, this design has many very attached owners.
It can be built in multi chine steel or aluminium, or in round bilge with fibreglass or wood epoxy. It can be rigged as a ketch or cutter and plans are available in either centre cockpit or aft cockpit configurations. There is also a choice of draft, a longer fin keel giving 1.37 meters and a regular fin keel which draws 1.68 meters. With plenty of room for stowage and gear, ample living space and a comfortable, forgiving sea motion the Roberts 35 has become a favourite with the long distance cruising set.
The study plan package has details on the construction methods of your choice and includes materials lists, sail plans and accommodation layouts all to scale in large format size.
