Designed by Barry Long in 1978 this design has stood the test of time. It is as relevant now as it was when first designed. It is an extremely economical, safe and seaworthy vessel. Designed when the world was in the grips of oil shortages and the demand for small seaworthy displacement cruiser and fishing boats was at it's peak, this design gained instant acceptance. Still immensely popular after 30 years (as their current resale price reflects) well over 500 of this design have been built and are currently in service in all parts of the world from Alaska to Australia and all places in between. You can build the Longboat 21 as a Family Cruiser with emphasis on accommodation, or as the Fisherman Version with a clear working deck. The Plans and Full Size Patterns are available for Fibreglass construction in either C-Flex, Airex or Balsa Core Sandwich or solid glass.
The study plans of all of the construction techniques in the material of your choice and includes the main materials list, accommodation layouts for both the fisherman and cruiser versions, building drawings, many photo's of finished crafts in both versions and other miscellaneous information regarding this design.
Hull and Decks are still available for this design. They are also available as a bare hull or to whatever stage you wish, right up to a tow away model on a trailer. For more details contact Terry Holmes on 0407650858
